May Favorites | 2015

Once again, how is it almost June?! May has been an incredible month for me and this summer (of course, if all things go according to plan which....we'll see) will also be amazing. I have the excitement of a new (amazing) job opportunity, which in turn brings a new apartment and (!!!!) a new car! Eeeeek! I am just so incredibly excited.

Anyway! I have quite a few beauty related favorites this month so let's dive in!

Miss Dior Eau de Toilette:  First thing I was obsessed with is my new perfume that I have (not even kidding one bit) been lusting over for at least a year and a half. Miss Dior is such an incredible sophisticated but not overpowering scent. It's definitely something you need to smell for yourself to fully understand how gorgeous it is. One day I was waiting in line at Starbucks for coffee and this woman walked by me and smelled absolutely incredible. I was pretty sure I knew what she was wearing but I asked her just to make sure. (I should note I never ever ask people what they are wearing.) When she told me it was Miss Dior it just sealed the deal for me and I had to add it to my collection. It's pricey, but I am so happy to have it!

Simple Cleansing Water: I have heard so many amazing reviews on this and that it was a great dupe for Bioderma. I finally snagged a bottle and even though I've only used this for about a week, I know it's going to be a permanent staple in my nighttime routine. This product breaks apart even the toughest makeup (including waterproof mascara) in a snap. I couldn't rave about this or suggest it more! Plus, it's amazing on sensitive skin ladies like myself!

Batiste Dry Shampoo: I've talked about Batiste time and time again and they always blow me away! This particular scent is absolutely to die for. I've tried every scent that is available at Ulta and this is by far my favorite. It's obviously a floral scent but it's so light that you barely notice it once it's in. Plus, it works wonders on that extra day hair you're trying to mask.

Tarte Amazonian Clay Blush: This blush is the perfect summer staple. The shade is called "Pampered" and is beyond gorgeous. The color payoff with just one dab of your blush brush is incredible. I love this for an everyday color with my day-to-day makeup, plus it still looks like I've just applied it at 5pm!

Urban Decay Brightening & Tightening Primer: This is actually only the second primer I've ever tried! My skin is dry/very dry so I've never needed to add a primer for the purpose of keeping my skin matte. I did want to see if this could help my makeup from settling into my hated forehead lines, and those darn lines in-between my eyebrows. I make a TON of facial expressions every day, even if I'm talking about how good my coffee that morning is, so something to keep those lines at bay is what I needed. This is a great primer for keeping my makeup looking great all day. I'm not sure it works super well for keeping my makeup from settling in the lines, but I CAN tell a difference between using it and not using it. Because it is silicone based you only need a tiny tiny amount each time you do your makeup. I'm assuming this bottle will last me a long time!

Pacifica Eye Shadow: This eyeshadow is to die for. It does not photograph well, so please don't let that fool you. This is a gorgeous taupe shade with a sheen to it in the color "Ethereal". I've been reaching for it all month for the inner corner of my eyes and the first 1/3 for extra brightness. It would also make an absolute gorgeous highlight for the brow bone.

L'Oreal Infallible Pro-Matte Foundation: I'm sure you've already heard about this foundation so many times by now. If you have - it's for a reason. This little baby is like heaven in a bottle. As stated before my skin doesn't need any help in the staying matte department but I feel like this is an amazing happy medium for both oily and dry people. This has a beautiful coverage and stays on practically until I go to bed. (Give or take a few hours) :)

Maybelline Nail Polish: This absolutely stunning shade is from the Rebel Boutique collection called "Rose Candy" (#816). I snagged this on clearance at Target not really sure how I would like it. I tend to hoard nail polish like no other so I was a little skeptical as to how I would get on with this one. It. Is. GORGEOUS! I have put it on three times in a row so far this month, which is a huge sign of love for me. So thankful I picked this up!!

Here's to another great month and many many more to come. Hope you enjoyed May as well!

XOXO,
E
