A few days ago I was really thinking about taking the plunge and buying a set or two, but then I thought to type into Google "Alex Drawer Ikea Dupe" and I couldn't believe what popped up!
I found a video on Youtube of a sweet girl who made a quick minute or two video showing the drawers she had found and I honestly couldn't believe they weren't from IKEA! As soon as she said where they were from I threw my hair up, some jeans on and ran out the door.
You'll never guess where I was headed. Michaels!! And we all know how amazing the deals are at this store anyway, but then to find out these babies were HALF THE PRICE of the IKEA sets. I probably looked like a mad woman running around the store, part of me thinking there was no way they had any left, how does no one else know about this great deal?! The drawers, I believe, were shelf priced at either $79.99 or $89.99 but they were on special for 60% off. Are you ready for this? I got BOTH sets for under $80. ONE 5 drawer set from IKEA will run you at least $80. Such a great steal!
I breathed a huge sigh of relief when I found them (it was basically one of those moments when angels sang in the background and a light was shining on them! I know, I'm being ridiculous, but really.) They had three left in stock so I quickly snagged two. (You'll need a cart, these bad boys are HEAVY!)
The product itself is marketed for scrapbooking but let's be honest, it's perfect for so many different things! Here are a few other photos during the process of building, and boy oh boy there was assembly required. Although I did have a little help. :)

I should note that I chose not to add the wheels on the bottom. Moving them isn't an issue for me and I wasn't 100% sure to be honest that they would fit under my desk with them on. (But you do have that option!!)
I also want to note a few differences that I know of between the two. The drawers shown here are all the same size, and if I'm not mistaken the Alex Drawers are a variety of sizes, getting larger as they go down. (This MAY just be for the 9 drawer set, however.) The drawers shown here do not have a magnetic closure but I foresee no issues with them not closing or staying closed.
I'm mostly excited about these because before I was using see-through plastic drawers, which of course, there is nothing wrong with them, but these to me are the next level way to organize all your beauty and makeup needs and loves!
