September Favorites | 2016

I am slightly torn with saying these are my September favorites because as of today, the 20th, there are still quiet a few days left in the month! So instead I'm going to say these are some of my current favorites.

I have completely falling in love with oils over the last year. I've mentioned on my blog a few times previously that my skin is extremely dry and I think oils may be my answer to combating it. I know that some people who have combination or oily skin tend to fear anything that would make their skin even more oily, but my oily skinned friends, embrace it! Oils (added to your skin or created naturally) help prevent wrinkles, and uh, hello who doesn't want that!? I also love the way skin looks with a little bit of shine (again - sorry oily friends, I would trade you skin in a heartbeat!) :)
I will get into details about oils in a future post, as my collection has grown as I learn how much my skin loves being lathered up every night. Argan Oil is high in Vitamin E, which is widely known to be a great skin moisturizer. I apply a small amount after washing my face and using a toner. I usually apply this about an hour before I will actually be going to sleep so that it has time to sink in before I turn the lights off. I'm a side sleeper, so applying this right before I go to sleep doesn't work out very well! I found this oil at Marshall's recently and at their price range, you can't go wrong. I always double check brands at Marshall's or TJ Maxx as I do my best to only purchase pure oils that don't have any harsh chemicals in them. In my opinion, there is no point to purchase something natural to then have the company pump it full of other nasty stuff!

Along with being completely obsessed with oils, I love candles! On top of loving candles, I especially love inexpensive candles! On top of loving inexpensive candles...okay okay just kidding. I love inexpensive soy candles. There are so many benefits to soy candles vs your traditional wax candles. Soy candles are natural since they are made from vegetable oil (soybeans), where paraffin candles are made from petroleum oil. Because of this, soy wax candles do not increase the CO2 level in the atmosphere like paraffin candles do. Soy candles also do not require chemicals to scent them. It is also known that soy wax candles burn 50% longer and fill a room with scent much better than traditional store bought candles.
I love the idea of creating as much of a chemical free environment as I can for myself, my boyfriend and of course, my cat! Soy candles can be found almost everywhere traditional paraffin candles are sold.

I bought this Breda watch about a year ago now and I'm not sure how it hasn't made it into a favorites post until now. I can honestly say I have never gotten so many compliments on a time piece in my entire life before I bought this one. I have even been stopped on the street and in my local Starbucks for information on where it can be purchased.
I originally saw a similar watch on Mimi Ikonn, who I couldn't adore more, and knew I wanted to find one similar to hers. I found this gorgeous piece on lulus.com and knew it was the one I wanted! It's classic, the perfect size, and goes with any other piece of jewelry you pair it with.
Recently I've been pairing this watch with my Stella and Dot cluster bracelet as I love this look with a long sleeved cardigan, where you can just barely see the bracelet and watch. These two pieces compliment each other so very well and I'm thankful every single day I wear them that I finally bit the bullet and bought them.

Last but certainly not least is this fun little makeup bag that I couldn't say no to. (I feel like I can't say no to a lot of things...oops!) :) I found this at Marshall's, at the same time that I found my facial oil, for $10 on clearance! I loved the daisies (Mark Jacobs perfume, anyone?). I completely forgot to take a photo of the inside, but it has two clear pouches that zip, making it easy to see what you are looking for. The bottom is flat, but it folds open so that it's easy to access everything you need. Right now I have two bags I use that are not in the best shape (and let's be honest...they aren't cute) so I'm very excited to start using this one! I know my boyfriend will appreciate seeing this on the counter every morning instead of what I used to use. ;)

These are all my new/current loves! I hope you all have had an amazing September, so far! It's not over yet!

XOXO,
E
